I have always been an actor…
But my artistic interests have changed. In the beginning I wrote, directed, and starred in small-scale living room productions for whoever would watch, yearning for the attention of all. Now, acting has become less about wanting something out of others and more about wanting something out of myself. Acting forces one to be empathetic towards a character and must dig deep to find the heart of who he/she is. Whether or not the character has any similarities to your own self, looking through the eyes of another inadvertently expands your compassion for the world around you. Acting has and continues to make me more aware of the world around me. It also allows me to share those discoveries with an audience, which I find to be the most powerful.
Through working in this industry, I have become an avid believer of mind over matter. As an artist in a demanding field, mental health is crucial. In finding what makes my mind healthy, I have taken up the practice of yoga—which has become a huge part of my life. I have also started a self-love blog: (findyourinnergoddess.tumblr.com) to encourage both myself and others to take those little steps towards maintaining happiness. These parts of my life have majorly affected my art; therefore I use this website to promote both.
